About the Program

From a galaxy far, far away to the magical school of Hogwarts, composer John Williams’ legendary film scores have accompanied moviegoers on epic journeys for decades.

Now, you can experience the best of John Williams’ 100-plus movie soundtracks performed live by a full symphony orchestra! Music Director Benjamin Rous leads the Charlottesville Symphony in music from the Star Wars series (including one of the first performances anywhere of music from The Last Jedi), Harry Potter, E.T., Jaws, Superman, Lincoln and more. All music will be performed in the exact versions from the films.

Performance duration:  approximately 2 hours, including one 15-minute intermission. Please note: this performance will not feature film clips and John Williams will not appear.
