ONLY 6 DAYS LEFT TO VOTE FOR
BEST CLASSICAL MUSIC GROUP!

Cast your vote for the Charlottesville Symphony! The Charlottesville Symphony is a finalist for C-VILLE Weekly's Best of C-VILLE 2022 Awards in the Entertainment category and Classical Music Group sub-category.

https://vote.c-ville.com/entertainment/classical-music-group

If you have enjoyed Symphony concerts that regularly bring audiences to their feet, or if you share our commitment to providing impactful music education programs to thousands of pre-K-12 students each year, please take a moment to cast your vote in support before 11:59pm on Thursday, June 30.

Why should you vote for us? During the second year of the pandemic, the orchestra performed Masterworks Concerts with string and percussion instruments only while woodwind and brass players remained sidelined by COVID restrictions. We co-produced a scaled-back version of the ever popular Family Holiday Concerts with the UVA University Singers. A digital Youth Concert, Beethoven’s Belated Birthday Ball, was seen by 3,448 students and teachers, more than twice the number that can be accommodated at annual Youth Concerts in Old Cabell Hall. We continued a virtual storybook series with musical accompaniment for our youngest listeners at the Virginia Discovery Museum; found new homes for refurbished instruments with schools and families in need through our “Play It Again!” program; launched three new collaborative projects with the Charlottesville Ballet; and introduced elementary and middle school students to orchestral instruments through virtual and in-school “Preludes” programs.

The musicians of the Charlottesville Symphony, Music Director Benjamin Rous, and board and staff members of the Charlottesville Symphony Society are very grateful for the moral and financial support of friends and fans during the past two-and-a-half seasons.

We are YOUR symphony orchestra and, hopefully, a community treasure that has earned your vote for Best Classical Music Group.

Thank you.
